Day 72
Annie and I went to Mom's so that Annie could help her decide what to do with her solo concert dresses. Talking about a trip down memory lane, talking about beautiful dresses, it was quite wonderful. We got them ready to bring to a thrift store. We thought some music major who needed a real dress to wear and had no money could use one. The other thing we thought to do with them is give them to a drama department, but that felt too hard, so Monday they go to the Thrift Store in Guilford.
Fabrics got divided into three bags, one for a church project that has asked for material, one for Annie and one for Emma to make doll clothes from. Thus, the chest was emptied giving Earl and Dori somewhere new to play.
I love going away for the day with Annie alone because we get time to just talk, catch up and then get to the point where we can just be silly together and laugh. Annie is great to laugh with, right Jace? Those two got laughing in the middle of Moonstruck and could not stop, I almost changed my seat. Any way we had some dinner and I was back here by 8. The wind is bad, but it wasn't that awful a ride. It is so much easier to do it with someone. 2 totally different experiences.
Annie made this puppet for Mom for her 90th birthday. It lives on that chair in the dining room. It has been there for almost a year. Today Earl took notice of it and decided to nervously check him out. Annie started working his arms, the poor cat was really thrown. Meanwhile, Dori could have cared less. He went into Mom's bed room and watched the rain.
Oh well..... home is where the heart is.
