Day 185

I wish I could go away to a spa for two days now, but that probably wouldn't help. I just feel like I am struggling with too many thoughts and I'm not allowed to be alone with them, not that anyone is keeping me from them, but I don't seem to sit long enough, or maybe get in water long enough, to clear my head out.

Diane, Emma and I went up to Annie's today. Her garden is beautiful, it was great to be outdoors. Annie cut my hair. She cut off 10 inches or so. It actually feels good. Emma read almost the entire time.

I feel powerless. The only thing I can control at the moment is my own actions in regards to taking care of myself. That's all I got. That's what I will do. But oh my God, I feel powerless.

  2. Powerlessness is the seat of strength. I'm not saying that to be all "zen", but I believe it to be a central truth of our lives. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING), in our culture attunes us to the accrual of power in ways both subtle and not-so-subtle. And we are taught that power is strength. But true strength comes in realizing our own powerlessness. Realizing powerlessness and accepting powerlessness are two very different things, however. (This is actually meant to be positive. Really!!!! :) ). Like VitaMeataVegaMin: "And it's so tasty, too. HONEST!"
